Chess Prep is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy outlines how we handle your data and your rights under the GDPR.
We store your email for sign-in, the chess accounts you choose to connect, imported games, saved decks and positions, and your training progress.
Your generated Chessprep username, XP, level, streak, and badges are visible to other signed-in players. Your email, real name, and linked chess accounts are not included. The leaderboard is public within the app; you can hide your entry in Community → My profile.
Daily practice milestones are visible only to accepted friends. You can disable activity sharing, remove friends, or block players. Training reset clears community XP and activity; account deletion also removes your community profile, friendships, and blocks.
Coaches invite players by their public ChessPrep username or a private invitation link. Only after you accept can that coach see your chess dashboards, opening performance and assigned exercise progress. Your email, personal decks, friendships and other coaches stay private. Students cannot see a coach’s other students. Leave from Homework at any time to revoke access; copies of assigned materials remain yours. Blocking a coach also ends the relationship.
Earlier coach workspaces containing only public platform games remain separate from app accounts; they are never linked automatically.
Public game imports refresh automatically, with less frequent checks when no new games are found. Stripe handles Coach subscription payments; ChessPrep stores subscription status and capacity, not card details.
Your email is used to identify your account and grant you access to your training material. We do not send marketing emails unless you explicitly opt in.
Your data is stored securely and is only accessible to authorized systems. We apply industry-standard measures to protect it.
In Settings → Your data, you can export your account, games, training progress, messages and saved content, or delete your account. The export includes purchase records and personal progress for paid decks, but excludes the publisher’s licensed lesson content. Payment records held by Stripe are available through Manage billing.
